Non-HLA genepolymorphisms in juvenile chronic arthritis: associations with outcome of disease
نویسندگان
چکیده
Methods A total of 500 children with JIA were included prospectively in a population based Nordic cohort study in 1997-2000. All patients had a recent diagnosis of JIA at inclusion. Not all centers were able to collect DNA from patients and at 8 year follow-up DNA was available from 217 patients. All eight categories of JIA were represented in the final cohort. Clinical data were collected longitudinally for the first eight years of disease. Remission was defined according to the preliminary criteria by Wallace et al. 2004. Testing of polymorphisms was performed using PCR based technology (KASPar v3.0 & v4.0 SNP Genotyping).

Protective role of HLA-DRB1*11 against juvenile idiopathic arthritis living in North Eastern Iran
Objective(s): Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is one of the most common chronic rheumatic diseases in children. The complex nature of this immune-mediated disease owes itself to several predisposing genes and environmental factors affecting its pathogenesis. Conducted in Iran, this study was originally intended to investigate every possible association between HLA DRB1 alleles and a suscept...
متن کاملJuvenile Idiopathic Arthritis Onset in a Neonate: A Rare Case Report
Background: A common type of chronic arthritis in children and adolescents is juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA).According to the International League of Associations for Rheumatology (ILAR) classification, JIA diagnostic criteria include age under 16 years and disease duration of six-weeks. Based on the number of involved joints in the first sixmonths of disease onset, JIA is categorized into...
متن کاملAre there common human leucocyte antigen associations in juvenile idiopathic arthritis and periodontitis?
AIM The aim of this study was to evaluate common human leucocyte antigen (HLA) associations in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (N=110), in patients with generalized aggressive periodontitis (N=50) and in patients with chronic periodontitis (N=102) in comparison to healthy controls (no periodontitis, no arthritis N=102). MATERIAL AND METHODS HLA-class I and II markers were determin...

Background: Spondyloarthropathies are a group of closely related inflammatory arthritis which involve the axial skeleton and are negative for rheumatoid factor. Objective: This case-control study was conducted to examine HLA- B27 positivity in patients with seronegative spondyloarthritis (SSA) as per ESSG criteria and compare the frequency with healthy controls because a lower positivity is rep...
متن کاملAntinuclear antibody studies in juvenile chronic arthritis.
This study of children with chronic arthritis confirms that patients at greatest risk for chronic iridocyclitis have a young age of onset and positive antinuclear antibodies (ANA). Children who are ANA negative have a low risk of iridocyclitis. When it occurs it is at a significantly older age. No child developing juvenile chronic arthritis over 9, even with positive ANA, had chronic iritis. Th...
